I am a Dominican writer. Awards include the Dean’s Fellowship at the University of Maryland and a Citation by the Office of the President Borough of Brooklyn, City of New York for my literary achievements. Winner of the 2022 Katherine Anne Porter Fiction Prize, my work was selected for the 2022 Speak Out Collection curated by Commonwealth Writers. I am a repeat winner of the Nature Island Literary Festival Short Story Competition, finalist in the 2020 Elizabeth Nunez BCLF Caribbean-American Writers Prize and was shortlisted for the 2016 Small Axe Literary Competition. Publications include adda, White Wall Review, Leavings Literary Magazine among others. I am a graduate of the University of Leicester and a 2018 Writer in Residence at the University of the West Indies St. Augustine in Trinidad. I graduated with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from the University of Maryland.
