Inspiration is everywhere. Yet, some days words refuse to show up for me, and some days I lack the will and capacity to look for them. But there are days when we find each other and connect in beautiful ways! On those days, we string thoughts together to create magic.

Some of my work have made it out into the world, others have not. I share with you those that have earned their right of passage, from thoughts to drafts to restructuring, past editors’ watchful eyes.

Anniversary in the Cabin is published in White Wall Review is the creative writing journal in the Department of English at Toronto Metropolitan University.

The Mango Tree is one of my first stories. It made it to the final round of the 2016 Small Axe Literary Competition.

  1. What an incredible story. As I listened I got emotional as if I was there. The choice of words used is well interlaced and we’ll situated. Lisa your tone of voice creates the atmosphere and really drew me into the story. I actually traveled with you on the journey from Petite Savanne to Roseau.
