I’m Lisa. Welcome to my website, Living, Loving & Writing (LLW) where stories are shared!
I live in Dominica, the Nature Island of the Caribbean, and most of my writing is drawn from my own experiences growing up there in the 1980’s and 1990’s. I developed a love for reading and writing largely due to my mother’s insistence that I read every day. It is only in recent years, and after sharing my work that I realized my knack for writing could be a gift. I dabble in poetry, but my passion lies in fiction.
A little about me
I am a graduate of the University of Leicester and I currently work full time as a Marketing Executive. A nature lover and moderate hiker, I also embrace the challenges of motherhood. I am an Executive Member of the Dominica Reading Association, an organisation that aims to promote literacy from an early age.
I have written several short stories and my first novel is close to completion. Twice, I won first place in the Nature Island Literary Festival Writing Competition and my short story ‘The Mango Tree’ was shortlisted for the Small Axe Literary Competition. I have shared my work in public spaces like the radio, literary events and social media. It is exciting to share my work on my own website!
I invite you to stop by from time to time and leave a comment or two and share.
Thanks for visiting. See you soon!
